Everything starts with a simple thought
La Ceaun did not appear out of a desire to be just another restaurant in the center of Brașov. It appeared out of the desire to recover a taste that seemed lost: that of food made without hurry, in which the only “secret” ingredients are a gentle fire, the cast-iron cauldron, and patience.
Respect for origins
We proudly source from local producers who share our love for the land and tradition. We choose fresh and pure ingredients to ensure that every dish served preserves the honest and unaltered taste of our region.
Patience as an ingredient
We do not look for shortcuts to taste, because we believe that true delicacies need time and a gentle fire. If a recipe calls for hours of boiling in a cauldron, we give it all the patience necessary for the flavors to blend perfectly.
United by the same taste
We are a united community, from the housewives in Sânpetru who bring recipes to life, to the colleagues in our restaurants. We work together with passion and a smile, so that every guest who crosses our threshold truly feels warmly welcomed.

Why La Ceaun?
Because the cauldron is the supreme symbol of Romanian hospitality. Cooking in a cauldron requires a certain rigor: you cannot rush the fire and you cannot cheat with the ingredients. This culinary honesty is what we bring daily to our two locations in Brașov: Piața Sfatului and Michael Weiss. It is not just a production unit but an extension of our home. Here we bake the brown bread, simmer the soups slowly, and carefully prepare the goodies from the pantry. We believe in honest food, prepared without hurry, so that you can find in every spoonful the authentic taste of childhood.

People, not
just customers
When you cross our threshold, you are not just a customer, but a guest at our table. We want every visit to be a complete sensory experience: from the smell of fresh bread, to the sound of the ladle hitting the edge of the cauldron, and finally, to the taste that makes you close your eyes and feel, if only for a moment, at home once again.
